The technical (or vocational) courses are divided into Certificates and Diplomas, what may vary is the duration of each module. The Certificate courses are short to medium term and usually lasts three months to one year and is divided into Certificate I, II, III and IV.

The timetable can vary according to the module, but the student has to study at least 20h per week.

Diplomas are usually made up of four certificates: Certificates l, ll, lll, lV. The duration of the Diploma is an average of 2 years. However, there are a few of these courses that can be completed in one year.

The requirements to enrol in a Diploma program depend on the type of the course and institution. It is necessary to have the highscholl completed.

Some of these institutions require an IELTS test (average between 5.0 and 5.5), other institutions only require Intermediate/Advanced English level.

Costs

Most courses have to be paid per semester and some quarterly. The prices range from AUD $ 3000 to AUD $ 8000 per semester. These values can vary according to the institution and course chosen.
